Recently, Megan and I performed in the opening ceremony for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. Auditions for the ceremonies were held late last year and we were fortunate enough to be placed in a segment together. We were a part of the sunbathers on Surfer’s Paradise beach dancing with Rikki Lee to Technicolour Love, complete with a yellow Frisbee and giant green Lilo.

A few weeks out from the ceremony we were also chosen to perform in the volunteer choir with Delta Goodrem singing her new song Welcome to Earth. Rehearsals started at the beginning of February which had us making the trip to the Gold Coast twice a week and more as the games neared. The long drive, late nights and rehearsals were well and truly worth it though when it came to the night of the opening ceremony. It was amazing feeling for the both of us walking into the stadium about to perform in front of 1.5 billion people. We made lots of new friends and memories and now have a once in a lifetime opportunity to remember.
