Entry to an Online Community Competition (e.g. Premier League, Olympic Games,
World/Euro Cups, "Pick the Oscars", AFL, NRL, Super15 and Premiership Rugby) is
free and open to members of the Online Community running the Competition.
COMPETITION RULES
- Selections (picks) in a Round of a Competition can be submitted by
participants via the Competition landing page in the Online Community.
- Selections can be submitted and changed at any time at any time prior to
the Round cut off time. The cut off time is indicated by a countdown timer
in the top right hand corner of the Competition landing page. Also, reminder
emails are sent to participants (prior to the cut off time) who have not
submitted their selections for the current upcoming Round.
- Each correct selection = 1 point (except for the Olympic Games and the
"Pick the Oscars" Competitions ' points scoring for these Competitions is
outlined on the respective Competition landing pages).
- Bonus points are awarded in the World/Euro Cup Competitions and are
outlined on the respective Competition landing pages.
- Participants who do not make a selection on a match in a Round will be
automatically allocated a win to the away team for that match (not
applicable to the Olympic Games, "Pick the Oscars" and the Wimbledon Competitions).
- Members can participate in a Competition at any time and for those that
join late, they will be awarded the default score for each Round missed (not
applicable to the Olympic Games, "Pick the Oscars" and the Wimbledon Competitions).
- The participant with the highest points score at the conclusion of a
Competition is declared the winner except in the event of a tie (see below).
In the event of a tie, the winner (in both the Community and Inter Community
contests) will be determined either by a "count back" system (applicable to the
Premier League and World/Euro Cups Competitions) or by a "nearest to the
margin/time" system (applicable to the Olympic Games, "Pick the Oscars", AFL,
NRL, Super15 and Premiership Rugby Competitions):
- A count back system takes into consideration the tied participants'
scores from the final Rounds, working backwards. As an example, if two
participants (A1 & B1) both finish the Competition on a total of 50 points
each but A1 scores 5 points in the final Round and B1 scores 3, then A1
would win based on the count back system.
- A "nearest to the margin/time" system considers the tied participants'
margin/time selections on a specific match/event/award in the final Round of
a Competition. The participant nearest to the actual margin/time result for
the specific match/event/award is declared the winner.
